HOLLYOAKS' star Kirsty-Leigh Porter has shared the devastating news that her baby girl was stillborn.

The 29-year-old actress revealed she was expecting her first child with fiance Paul, 41, in November and just a month later her precious daughter was "born sleeping".

Taking to Instagram tonight she confirmed: "Our beautiful baby girl, Penny-Leigh Barber was born sleeping on the 21st of December 2018 at 6.49am, 29 weeks & 3 days young.

"My heart has never felt pain like it. Sleep sweetly our angel. We will always love you. Love your Mummy & Daddy. My Everything"

Kirsty waited until she was six months into her pregnancy to announce her baby news, adding at the time that she and Paul were "really, really happy".

Speaking to OK! magazine at the time, the star explained: "You just feel everything at once. We are so happy it has happened for us now."

Kirsty also opened up about her relationship with Paul after they got engaged in April last year, sharing: "Something just clicks. If you’re in a relationship and it’s not working then you find yourself having to try. With him, it’s just not like that.

"We make an effort but it’s not hard work – it’s just so natural and effortless.

"I think that’s when you know it’s love, because every day you wake up and you’re happy."

Kirsty previously dated Emmerdale star Danny Miller.

The pair splitshortly before she and Paul got together after she accused the actor of romping with a prostitute.
