Kōhei Horikoshi is a Japanese manga known for creating the shōnen Ōmagadoki Dōbutsuen, Barrage and My Hero Academia manga series, all of which were or were serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump. Horikoshi graduated from Toho High School and Nagoya Art University and is a resident of Aichi Prefecture. He was assistant to Yasuki Tanaka, creator and author of the manga series Hitomi no Catoblepas and Kagijin. Horikoshi's favorite and inspiring manga series include Naruto, One Piece, Akira, Tekkonkinkreet, and Boys on the Run. Horikoshi is also a huge fan of American superhero comics, especially Marvel Comics.
